Mixed Media Magic
Collage work is where my mind lets go and my imagination takes over. Many of my crayon figure drawing sketches come to life here, often making a statement about something personal to me. The act of collecting, saving and cutting out images from magazines is very theraputic and calming for my busy mind. The process of arranging them into scenes already formed in my mind is like an ever evolving puzzle. They are fun and challenging at them same time.
This collection is apart of my efforts to create affordable and sustrainable art. I believe everyone should be able to afford to buy original art for their home - art adds value to our lives. Here I recycle donated magazines and reimagine unused sketches of mine. All my frames are either made by me with salvaged wood or upcycled from somewhere.
